Getting Started with Your GPS Speedometer
Ready to start? Just tap the "Start" button to get going. You can easily flick between m/s, km/h, or mph to see your speed in the units you prefer. Feel like looking at a classic dial or just big, simple numbers? You can switch between those looks, too!
What you're looking at:
- The Main Screen: This is your speed, front and center. Use the little icon (
📊/🔢
) to swap between the analog gauge and the digital display. - Your Stats: Right below, you'll see your top speed, average speed, how far you've gone, and how long you've been tracking.
- The Big Button: Use this to Start and Stop your trip. Simple as that!
How it all works under the hood:
It's pretty cool—the app uses your phone's GPS to see how fast you're moving from one point to another. It's just simple math from there!
Having trouble? It's usually an easy fix.
If the speedometer isn't working, the main culprit is usually location permissions. The app needs to know where you are to know how fast you're going.
How to give the app permission:
- On iPhone: Head to Settings → Privacy → Location Services. Find your browser, and make sure it's set to "Allow."
- On Android: Go to Settings → Location → App Permissions. Find your browser, and tap "Allow."
If you've done that and it's still stuck, try getting to a spot with a clear view of the sky. A good GPS signal is key!
